rayspillenger.com is the website of Ray Spillenger (1924-2013), an artist who was a vital member of the New York art scene during the 1950s and 1960s and continued to paint until a couple of years before his death at the age of 89.  Its purpose is to get the word out about this long-forgotten friend and peer of Willem de Kooning, Franz Kline, and many other painters associated with the abstract expressionist movement.  This is also the home of The Ray Spillenger Project, which for the last two years has been cataloguing, restoring, cleaning, framing, and arranging exhibitions of the artist's work.
